On 19 July 2012, pilot Chip Yates achieved 202.6 mph in level flight, making the aircraft the fastest man carrying electric powered aircraft. Long ESA A 258 hp electric engine conversion. Shaw, a Yorkshireman, later designed the Europa XS kitplane. Twin EZ Ivan Shaw built a Long-EZ and then converted it into a "Twin-EZ", an aircraft with twin wing-mounted Norton Wankel engines (precursors to the MidWest AE series). Initially, a follow-on version called the "Mark-1 X-Racer, was going to be developed for the Rocket Racing League, but the Velocity SE was subsequently selected as the airframe for the Rocket Racer, rather than the Long-EZ. EZ-rocket XCOR Aerospace modified a Long-EZ and replaced the engine with twin liquid-fueled rocket engines to form a flight test vehicle called the EZ-rocket, which was used as a proof-of-concept demonstrator. Variants E-Racer An extensively modified redesign using Long-EZ wings with a fuselage modified for side-by-side seating, retractable landing gear, and larger automotive engine conversion powerplants. This "around the world in 80 nights" flight was called The Spirit of EAA Friendship World Tour, and some legs of it lasted for over 14 hours. In 1997 Dick Rutan and Mike Melvill flew in convoy around the world in two Rutan Long-EZ aircraft that they had built. E-Racer Experimental electric motor power installation Some components for the design are supplied by Aircraft Spruce & Specialty. the job of publishing the plans for the Long-EZ and other of his aircraft under The Rutan Aircraft Factory CD ROM Encyclopedia to further assist new builders and maintenance for existing builders. It has an airbrake on the underside, and the wing-tip rudders can be deflected outwards to act as auxiliary airbrakes. The pilot sits in a semi-reclined seat and controls the Long-EZ with a side-stick controller on the right-hand console. Įquipped with a rear-seat fuel tank, a Long-EZ flew for 4,800 miles (7,700 kilometers) in December 1979, still the record for aircraft weighing less than 1000 kg. It can fly for over ten hours and up to 1,600 miles (2,600 km) on 52 gallons (200 liters) of fuel. The aircraft is designed for fuel-efficient long-range flight, with a range of just over 2,000 miles (3,200 km). The new canard has a negligible rain trim, and rain adds only 2 knots to the stall speed. This enabled the new canard to be designed with less span, reducing wetted area and thus drag. The new canard was designed with the Roncz R1145MS airfoil, which produces considerably more lift than the original GU25-5(11)8 airfoil. This trim change is usually a nose-down trim change experienced when flying into rain requiring a small aft force on the stick to maintain altitude, which is easily trimmed out, using the bungee trim system. In January 1985 it was announced that plans for a new canard were being offered, to eliminate "rain trim change" that had been experienced by Long-EZ pilots. There were about 700 FAA-registered Long-EZs in the United States in 2005, which had grown to 833 in 2021. The canard uses the same GU25-5(11)8 airfoil as the VariEze. Changes from the VariEze included a larger main wing with modified Eppler 1230 airfoil and less sweep, larger strakes containing more fuel and baggage storage, and a slightly wider cabin. The Long-EZ was a scaled-up redesign of the VariEze predecessor, allowing for the use of readily available Lycoming aircraft engines instead of the Volkswagen-derived engines or hard-to-find small Continentals for which the VariEze was designed. The prototype Long-EZ, N79RA, first flew on June 12, 1979.ĭesign Aero India, Bangalore (2003) Its predecessor was the VariEze, plans for which were first available to homebuilders in 1976. The tricycle landing gear has fixed main wheels with streamlined spats and a retractable nosewheel. The Long-EZ has a canard layout, a swept wing with wingtip rudders, and a pusher engine and propeller. In the years since, Redditors have played an integral role in getting to the bottom of this case. On November 22, 1987, two TV stations in Chicago had their broadcast signals hijacked by someone wearing a Max Headroom mask. The cliches are here, too, of course, but this movie is miles above 90% of current horror fare.Facebook Email “The Max Headroom Incident” from u/gregorburns TL DL (Too Long Didn’t Listen) I can overlook some of the technical drawbacks if a movie is unique, memorable, and brave enough to abandon the horror formula. If you're OK with the slow burn and can tolerate a "WTF" ending, give this one a shot. I rarely write reviews, but this one was effective as an "experience," if not as a full-fledged narrative. That being said, I will watch this one again and scour for clues. I'm not lazy about probing alternate interpretations, but I need something a bit more solid to work with. Few horror movies warrant revisiting, but even with its flaws, this isn't one I'll forget 20min after the end credits. I have my own theory about the ending, but this one requires a re-watch. Almost like the composer was scoring a completely different film. Distracting and, well.intrusive at times. The lead (James) was believable and intense, and the mystery, atmosphere, and creepy imagery definitely held my attention. Or maybe it was the result of slash and burn editing. The ending here was a bit too "not sure how to wrap this one up, so.here you go." Roll credits. I love obscure, ambiguous endings open to broad interpretation.up to a point. I'm not entirely sure I know what happened. “Phonenix Coyotes” was registered for a trademark in 1997 – immediately after moving to the area. The team name was the first thing that the franchise trademarked when they moved to Arizona from Winnipeg. Let’s take a look at some of the most famous Arizona Coyotes trademarks, registered by IceArizona Hockey Co LLC. Registering their trademarks will help protect their intellectual property and brand assets from competitors using similar iterations. The franchise has registered 23 trademarks with USPTO. Given their unstable history and consistent talks about new ownership and moving, it’s no wonder that the Arizona Coyotes don’t have many trademarks to their name. The franchise holds the record as the league’s oldest NHL franchise to have never played in the Stanley Cup Finals. As of February 2022, the franchise has signed a three-year agreement to play its games at Mullett Arena. As recently as 2021, they were locked out of Gila River Arena for not paying taxes and struggled to find a replacement stadium. The Coyotes have had several coaches and players, and also many problems with playing grounds during their time. The team has continued to be an unstable club and has never recouped its financial losses to this day. The NHL took over the franchise until 2013 when they found new ownership under the Canadian group, Renaissance Sports and Entertainment (RSE). Often referred to as just the “Coyotes”, the team name was picked as part of a public team-naming vote, just pipping the “Scorpians” – both inhabitants of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona to represent the region.ĭuring their early ownership, the team was unstable and declared bankruptcy in 2009. It wasn’t until 1996 that the Jets moved to Phoenix where they were renamed the “Phoenix Coyotes” before being changed to the “Arizona Coyotes” in 2014. After the WHA folded, the Jets were one of four franchises absorbed into the NHL in 1979. The Coyotes were founded in 1971 and were originally known as the Winnipeg Jets, playing as part of the World Hockey Association (WHA). They played as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference until 2021 when the Seattle Kraken entered the league, so they moved back to the Central Division. The Arizona Coyotes are a professional ice hockey team based in Phoenix, Arizona, and compete in the National Hockey League (NHL). Unlike other incarnations of the course, this version is completely covered in star-shaped guardrails. The Rainbow Road featured in Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 is not only the longest track in the game, but also the longest track of the entire Mario Kart series, with each lap taking around two minutes to complete without the use of shortcuts. The remakes in Mario Kart 7 and onward replaced the yellow bumps with ramps following Mario Kart Wii's addition of the Jump Boost feature in the series, had the Star Thwomps create ripples on the track for racers to make stunts off of, and added a ramp in the last fork of the road for an additional shortcut option. This track was later remade for Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart Tour, making it tied with Super Mario Kart's Mario Circuit 3 for having the most appearances in the series. Original Rainbow Road also features Star Thwomps which - unlike the regular thwomps met in Bowser's Castle levels - can deal more damage and spin racers out on the ground. Highly favoring the high-speed heavy characters (Bowser and Donkey Kong), this track saw all lap records performed with these two characters. Since floor behaviour is dictated by tile type in the original Mario Kart, the slightest "black tile" would send the racer off the track, forcing its player to wisely search the apex in every curve. It lacks guardrails completely and is filled with sharp-90 degree turns with a few jumping blocks on the track's surface. Rainbow Road originally appeared as the final level in Super Mario Kart and is the only course in the game not to have numbered variants, since it appears only once. Rainbow Road appears as the final level of every major Mario Kart game since Super Mario Kart except Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. Most Rainbow Road courses have been revised to be featured more than once throughout the series, the original one appearing in four distinct games and the second one three times. It typically is among the most difficult to complete, since most Rainbow Road tracks often have little to no guardrails to prevent the player from falling off the edges of the track, and oftentimes feature tight curves, steep slopes, and wavy grounds. Rainbow Road customarily appears as the final brand new track of each game and the final race of the special cup. Usually presented as a rainbow-coloured racing course suspended in space, Rainbow Road is widely recognized as one of the most iconic staple elements of the Mario Kart video game series. Rainbow Road is the name of several levels featured in the Mario Kart racing game series, developed and published by Nintendo. The Secret Path/Road ( The Super Mario Bros. We spread 6 inches of leaves and debris evenly across the area, then used a leaf blower to push the pile under the hedge. The testing area included a wide-open grassy lawn space and a hedge with low, spreading branches. We used them to assemble a test plot to try out each rake. Our testers had access to a massive windrow of dried, matted, partially broken-down leaves left from fall bales of pine straw and a huge collection of southern magnolia leaves that naturally drop in spring. It may seem a bit of a stretch to test leaf rakes in the middle of spring, but that’s exactly what we did.
